About Kate

Kate has always had a passion for all things movement and learning practically, she has been dancing ever since she can remember and her hobby and interest of moving has now become her career, how lucky is that!

Her discovery of Pilates was a natural progression from her initial training in dance from when she was 3 years of age, right through to her graduation with a BA HONS degree in Dance Studies from Liverpool John Moores University.

"When I finished my degree I was looking to keep learning and of course it had to be in a practical sense, I found Pilates and from my first beginners class, I was hooked!"

After a rigorous 10 month training programme Kate qualified as a Level 3 Pilates instructor in December 2011 with Body Control Pilates, London and became a member of the BCP Association.

Since then she has completed many different courses with Body Control including the most pivotal to her career:

  • Matwork Master Teacher Certification 2016

  • HIPP Qualified Teacher 2016

  • Reformer 1 Certification 2017

  • Supervising teacher for Body Control Pilates student teachers 2019

  • Back4Good® Practitioner (Low Back Pain specialist)  2020

Kate qualified as a  DDMIX instructor in 2015, after completing the Cardio Dance workout developed and produced by Prima Ballerina Darcey Bussell.

It was the added bonus that Kate can now say she has met and danced with her idol too!

Having a dance background gives Kate a real advantage with Pilates teaching. In addition to careful and individual planning, Kate is able to choreograph sessions to enable students to develop their own fluidity of movement, co ordination and stamina as well as building core strength and stability.

Kate is currently enjoying teaching 1 class of HIP Pilates™  (High Intensity Power Pilates) a week. This workout was created and developed by Lisa Bradshaw. These classes really build, improve and give you a great cardio, strengthening and weight loading experience.

To date, Kate is building and developing her online presence, since COVID-19 started, she has gained quite the following on Zoom. And now offers 3 weekly morning classes (See Zoom tabs) to her weekly schedule.

To date Kate is developing a brand new class which started in September 2022, Stretch, Tone & Hone.

The class will fuse together the core principles of classical Ballet technique with Contemporary movement and Pilates stretches. It will take you through a full body workout in standing and then onto the mat, that will leave you feeling lengthened, toned and stretched as well as honing and perfecting a new technique.
